GEORGIAN REVIVAL: ELEGANCE MEETS MODERN FAMILY LIFE

THE BRIEF

A historic Georgian cottage, extended over time, needed unifying into one cohesive home. The owners wanted sophisticated spaces that would work for both quiet family life and visits from grandchildren, while making the most of countryside views.

OUR SOLUTION

We created harmony through a palette of soft, muted tones lifted by touches of plum, green and teal. Dark bronze ironmongery and switches add refined detail, while organic linens and velvets bring texture and warmth. The owners' art collection was carefully woven into the scheme, creating personal touchpoints throughout.

Period features gained emphasis through rustic grey oak parquet flooring, rich textured carpets, and elevated skirting boards, architraves and cornicing. A new staircase bridges traditional style with modern elegance, while in the drawing room, a limestone fireplace and chrome grate create a graceful focal point. Here, a bespoke ottoman centres the space, complemented by chairs in subtle animal print.

The snug became an intimate retreat with vintage velvet upholstery in deep tones, featuring a custom sofa and armchair designed to fit perfectly. Throughout the house, metallic bronze studding adds sophisticated detail to upholstered pieces.
