A home that balances period charm with modern luxury - proof that historic properties can deliver every contemporary comfort while maintaining their character.

THE BRIEF

A period home which was extended in 2012 needed updating for its new young family. The owners, well-travelled and design-conscious, wanted to brighten dark spaces while creating sophisticated areas for entertaining. Smart technology and storage solutions were key priorities.

OUR SOLUTION
We tackled the winter gloom with innovative lighting design - daylight-balanced LEDs concealed behind bespoke cornices create natural ambiance, while app-controlled systems allow precise mood setting.

In the living room, we embraced Japandi elegance, designing and making a statement drinks cabinet with sliding pocket doors, oak detailing, and bronze mirrors. The cabinet integrates a Fisher & Paykel Cool Drawer and wine storage, making entertaining effortless. A matching media unit conceals the TV behind a motorised lift, complemented by sculpted oak shelving. Bold cobalt sofas and a Moooi light fixture create drama, while a geometric copper-based coffee table adds warmth.

Storage solutions are both beautiful and practical - the hallway features a Hi-Macs-clad under-stair unit with Alcantara-upholstered pull-out seats, while the master suite includes LED-lit wardrobes and an Alcantara-lined jewellery storage. Throughout, bespoke joinery in walnut and oak adds refinement, from the snug's storage to the children's practical wardrobes.
