A full-service project, we are designing, overseeing the full renovation of this 6-bedroom farmhouse and modern vaulted extension, and supplying all the joinery. The challenge is to merge the old and new so that each has its own identity but that they also sit together beautifully. A family of 5 live here but, as the children are growing up and eventually moving away, it has to function as a family home that is comfortable enough for all, and become a stunning entertaining space for the parents who love to cook and have friends over.

We have taken every wall back to brick, and rebuilt with lath and lime plastering, rounding corners and edges to take away the previous new-build feel and making the house feel authentic and organic. The modern extension will feature a bespoke ‘beamed’ ceiling which gives synergy between the old and the new and creates a wow moment.

For the joinery, we have made all the windows and doors, designed a bespoke oak kitchen (to complement the ceiling detail), and are designing and supplying 5 bedrooms with fitted wardrobes.
