Studio Giancarlo Valle created a beautiful family home in a New England mansion overlooking the ocean on Rhode Island, showcasing their distinctive to great effect. The vacation home is owned by hotelier Kevin Wendle, his partner and their two young boys needed reshaping and reimagining and Studio Valle have certainly delivered. They removed walls to create seamless flows through the space and even imported traditional British fireplaces to create a wonderfully-authentic home.

Curvaceous shapes in furniture and staircases soften the spaces, complemented by comfortable fabrics in cottons and linens. The colour palette is varied - in some rooms a vibrant blue, to reflect the ocean outside, is celebrated while most rooms remain neutral (but with beautiful bespoke or mid-century modern furniture, they are never boring). Brassware and marble in the kitchen and bathrooms add touches of elegant luxury while wooden beams in most rooms add warmth and structure.
