NINETIES HOME: A BOHO-LUXE REVIVAL
THE BRIEF
A substantial 1990s house needed modernising for its young owners who frequently entertain. They wanted a space that was practical and sustainable while feeling fresh and contemporary. Dark flooring and dated features throughout needed addressing to create a lighter, more inviting atmosphere.
OUR SOLUTION
We began by replacing all flooring with hard-wearing light oak, immediately brightening the space. New traditional-style doors replaced heavy wooden ones throughout, while fresh wall colours created a contemporary canvas. Bespoke features bring personality - wallpapered stair treads add unexpected detail, while Moroccan-style kitchen tiles introduce pattern, all balanced through a cohesive colour scheme.
The living room combines comfort with entertainment, featuring soft textures in blues, teals and greens. A sophisticated 5.1 AV system and statement TV above the fireplace create a focal point, while a clever corner transformation provides a discreet home office. The dedicated study balances traditional elements with playful touches - a built-in oak desk in rich mahogany sits alongside tartan wallpaper and a leather Chesterfield, complementing the owners' artwork. In the master bedroom, we crafted bespoke rustic oak wardrobe doors and a sliding mirrored ensuite entrance.
THE RESULT
A home transformed from dated to dynamic, where boho-luxe style meets practical living. Every space now serves its purpose beautifully, from entertaining areas to private retreats, while sustainable choices ensure longevity. The result perfectly reflects the owners' youth and energy while providing the sophisticated comfort they desired.
